‘Our goal is to support young people to achieve their full potential in education, employment and life’

What is The Rising Tide Project?

The Rising Tide Project is a pilot project based in Colaiste Eoin, Finglas, Dublin 11 and is essentially a unique holistic programme that has been running successfully in co-operation with the City of Dublin Education & Training Board and the school principal since 2015.
This incorporates a range of programmes that includes a scholarship programme and other life-enhancing programmes designed to help students achieve their full potential in education, employment and life.
The Rising Tide Project aims to foster and encourage every student’s untapped academic, sporting, entrepreneurial and creative talents.  Ultimately, the aim of the Project is to increase progression rates to universities, colleges, apprenticeships and the workplace and to ensure that students graduate from secondary school with the relevant qualifications, self-belief and life skills to forge fulfilled lives within their communities and beyond.

WHAT WE DO

Scholarship Programme

This is a bespoke programme that is built around each one of our 53 scholarship students. Each year students are invited to apply to become a Rising Tide Scholar. Students are chosen because they have an interest, aptitude or talent in a specific area, including, but not limited to, academia.  The scholarship offers students the opportunity to improve their skills, gain experience in their area of interest and engage with the key leaders in the field.

EI Discover Ireland Programme

Sponsored by Extreme Ireland, our discovery programme enables students to explore the beauty, history and geography of Ireland. Every month each class travels to an incredible destination that encompasses learning and outdoor activity in a unique trip.

Whole School Support

We provide a programme of activities that encourages our students to evolve to their full potential academically, personally and socially in an environment of mutual respect and dignity:

  • Higher Options Conference
  • CAO Support and Finance
  • Business Bootcamp
  • Sports Day Support
  •  Parents Programme
  •  Arts Project
  • Christmas Lunch
  • College Awareness Week Support
  • Support with Transition Year work experience
  • Support with English
  • Urban Plan Ireland Workshop

The Rising Tide Project encompasses the student…

“The Rising Tide Project encompasses the student, the school and the community. The project is evidence based and uses a best practice model to address educational disadvantage from a holistic perspective. Early indications suggest that the project’s unique approach empowers young people to realise their full potential and embark on a successful post-school pathway”.

As founder of To Children With Love…

“As founder of To Children With Love and co-founder of the Rising Tide pilot project, I really do believe that every child is entitled to the opportunity to achieve their full potential. My experience over the past 21 years has demonstrated to me that, with the right support, passion and hard work, the impossible can be possible”.

Thanks as always to the Rising Tide…

Thanks as always to the Rising Tide – the generosity of the sponsors and the Rising Tide team.  Together we are making a difference in the lives of many of our students. The impact on the scholarship students is a key element of that change and the supports offered and the positive engagement of students in the teaching and learning taking place in the school is making itself felt.  It is through this change that self-esteem and confidence grow. It is through this engagement in learning that lives change through education”

“I’m a very lucky Mammy to have the Rising Tide in the school that my children attend. The scholarship boys and girls get lots of perks, like grinds, mentoring, trips, help with schoolbooks, etc. I like the way the Rising Tide is very positive in its attitude towards the kids and the way the good kids are rewarded for hard work. My son went to the Gaeltacht this year.  It has completely changed how he sees the world.  He definitely wants to go to college now”.
